About

Born and bred in Nottingham my passion for photography was sparked by my elder brother Pete. In my teenage years we had a darkroom and I spent many a waking hour processing and developing film. I gave up photography when I had my first child and didn’t restart taking pictures until 2005, when I joined my first camera club Arnold and District Camera Club.

Since that time, I have been a member at a few clubs in the Nottingham area and I get a lot of satisfaction from club events. I am a judge and lecturer both for the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) and the North and East Midlands Photographic federation (N&EMPF). I have judged as far away as Australia and Jamaica, and really enjoy the feeling of giving something back to photography. The distances are even greater now with zoom and I find myself lecturing around the UK and beyond.

I am constantly trying to develop my own style in photography and like to do things my way, although I am open to new and different ideas. Most of my photography now is done alongside my wife Louise Langley who in her own right is an accomplished photographer. We do very different work but I think our styles compliment each other. Louise took up photography later in life and has already accomplished a great deal in a short space of time. She also judges and lectures and is the first person I turn to for help and advice.

Photography has become a way of life and I am always happier with a camera in my hand. I hope you enjoy my website, and please feel free to come back again. The pages will be updated from time to time so hopefully there is always something new to see.
